Cruising for single travellers
The perfect welcome for solo guests
Around a fifth of our guests sail solo. They enjoy the sociable atmosphere aboard our small, friendly ships, which are exclusively for people over 50.
With fewer people on board you’ll never feel lost in a crowd of thousands, and it’s so easy to find your way around. Also, being greeted by the same faces each day makes it simple to strike up friendships with your fellow guests and crew.
A packed programme of events
In addition to the packed programme offered by all our cruises, we plan many exclusive events and activities for our solo guests. Every day on board, a Daily Programme brings you a great choice of free lectures, activities, quizzes, dance classes and entertainment. Just come along to anything you fancy: our Cruise Directors will make sure you get together with like-minded people to join in the fun.
So why not discover our special style of cruising for yourself? We’d love to welcome you aboard! We’ve reserved a wide range of cabins for you, where you’ll be able to relax in your own space with no extra supplement to pay on a double cabin.
Exclusive activities for solo guests
A special ‘Singles Mingle’ drinks party takes place early in each cruise, which is a great opportunity to meet and socialise with your fellow solo cruisers.
There is also an exclusive Singles Lunch where you can get to know them better.
Meet fellow guests
On port days, when everyone is heading out to explore, we also arrange a special singles meet up.
This is your chance to link up with other solo guests for your shore excursion or to explore the destination together.
If you’ve booked an excursion and find you know someone else who’s going, simply tell us and we’ll ensure you’re on the same bus together.
Your own private cabin
With up to a fifth of cabins aboard Saga Sapphire and Saga Pearl II reserved exclusively for solo guests, you won’t have to compromise on personal space or facilities. There are even a few Single Suites available if you really fancy treating yourself.
Whichever grade you choose, it will be well-appointed with an en-suite bathroom, dressing table or writing desk, a wardrobe, flat-screen TV and DVD, safe, a mini-fridge and everything else you need. You can also enjoy your own personal cabin steward, 24-hour room service and a nightly turndown service – all at no extra charge.

Dine with new friends
Exquisite cuisine is also a big part of the cruising experience and we want you to dine the way you prefer.
All restaurants have an open seating arrangement, so you can choose to sit with other solo guests, reserve a table to share with new friends, or join one to dine with different people each night.
Our helpful maître d’ will arrange everything for you – just tell them what you prefer.
