The walls of Ibiza Town rise dramatically above the cliffs that protect the port and are an impressive sight. This island, the third largest of the Balearics, has a history of colonization by Phoenicians, Romans, Moors—and most recently—hordes of fun-loving clubbers. Not for nothing does the island have a reputation of party capital of the world. But it has far more to offer than just clubs for hedonists. With its craggy coastline fringed by turquoise coves, fine sand beaches, and backed by aromatic, pine-clad hills, it is a place of incomparable beauty.

Ibiza Town is divided into two distinct areas: the ancient hilltop settlement of Dalt Vila and the more modern, easily accessible Eixample district by the seafront. There's much to explore here, including the dramatic Ibiza Castle.

Barcelona is one of Spain’s premier destinations—a stylish and dynamic city with a spectacular Mediterranean setting, and a real buzz. Arguably, the heart of the city is the mosaic-paved Ramblas, a pedestrian-only street leading up from the port, and the city's social hub, filled with sidewalk cafés, street entertainers, and crowds of people strolling slowly just taking in the atmosphere.

With Roman origins, besieged numerous times during its long and turbulent history, modern Barcelona is proudly Catalan. The city has a fascinating heritage and so much to discover. Awash with culture and art, Barcelona has seen many famous artists including Pablo Picasso and Joan Miró (both of whom have dedicated museums here), make the city home, but it is the eccentric architect Antoni Gaudí’s surprising and striking work that has become symbolic of Barcelona, especially La Sagrada Familia and Parc Güell. His distinctive creations are often covered in colourful mosaics and quirky detailing, and have an organic style. Other highlights include the medieval Barri Gòtic (Gothic Quarter), the fortress at Montjuic, the cathedral, the elegant neighborhood of Eixample, the city’s glorious food markets, and the views from Tibidabo. Thanks to the 1992 Olympics held here, the area around the port was redeveloped and now offers a boardwalk alongside a beach that was voted the world’s top city beach by the National Geographic. The charming old Fisherman’s quarter of Barcelona awash with cafés and tapas bars is tucked just behind.
